In 1954, the Par Aide Ballwasher was about to change as Joseph S. Garske, a self-trained pattern maker, started and was operating a thriving enterprise, Progress Foundries, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was invited to a PGA of America meeting in St. Paul and encouraged to invent a “good ball washer,” which was developed and patented within a year. Garske took his unique product, tooling and patent to two golf-accessory companies. Both declined, and Par Aide was born, initially as a subsidiary of Progress Foundries.

In the following years, Par Aide thrived under the leadership of Joe Garske, Robert F. Gerding and, most recently, Steve Garske, Joe’s son and under the leadership of Mike Hilliard.
